Charleston Engagement Session in the Low Country

Oh Charleston! If I was a lyricist, I would write you a love song. This is by far my most favorite city to photograph my clients in. Maybe it has to do with the sunsets, or maybe it’s the charm of every single building (including the new builds), or maybe it’s the Southern Charm – call me cliche, but there’s absolutely nothing like Charleston.

CHARLESTON IS ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR DESTINATIONS FOR WEDDINGS AND A PHOTOGRAPHERS DREAM

When Kelsea + Collin asked me to travel to The Holy City for their engagement shoot in February, I started to list all of my favorite landmarks starting with the historical Hibernian Hall. The beautiful checkered floors and tall columns provided the light and airy look for this beautiful session.   One of the most popular stops for an engagement session in Charleston is the American Theater on King Street. Did you know that you could call in advance and reserve the marquee sign? Such an incredible staple piece for any engagement shoot. Fun fact, this is the same theater where the movie “The Notebook” was filmed.

THE AMERICAN THEATER IS AN ICONIC LANDMARK IN CHARLESTON, ESPECIALLY FOR MOVIE BUFFS WHO LOVE “THE NOTEBOOK.”

Every quintessential Charleston session has to have the historical homes as its backdrop. As we walked the French Quarter, we couldn’t help but stop on every corner for a photo otp. That is truly what makes Charleston so special. The possibilities are endless and beautiful!  I feel so blessed to be a part of Kelsea + Collin’s wedding season! Having the amazing opportunity to photograph them during such a special time brings me so much joy! Congratulation again you two!
